Outreach program

We provide culturally appropriate education and awareness on the provisions of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 to Aboriginal peoples, communities, representative organisations and particular groups who experience discrimination or face similar issues related to their geographic isolation.

Information Sessions are delivered to various regions across the State by an Aboriginal officer on a rotating basis .

Aboriginal Training and Community Education Officer: Stephen Goodall

For information about the Outreach Program, please contact Stephen on Tel: 9216 3906 or free call 1800 198 149 (outside the metropolitan area).

Outreach publications: Guidelines

Publications include a seven (7) page Aboriginal Guide for Aboriginal groups and community organisations providing detailed information on: meanings of discrimination; what you can do about discrimination; an outline of the Commission's complaint process and examples of conciliated complaints most commonly experienced by Aboriginal peoples. A review of this publication is being planned.

EOC Annual Calendar and Discrimination Poster

An annual calendar is produced every year and serves to inform Aboriginal peoples of the role of the Commission and includes details of how to contact us.
